Overview[]

There are a variety of different NPCs in the mod. Most NPCs in the mod function as traders: similar to vanilla villagers or wandering traders, these NPCs can give the player items in exchange for other items. A few NPCs do not trade.

Trading

All NPC trades have a ‘stock’ value that determines how many times they can be used, with a trade becoming disabled upon using up all of its stock. The trade is periodically refilled up to 2 times in the equivalent of a Minecraft day, as long as the player is more than 24 blocks away from the NPC in that period of time. NPCs added by Advent of Ascension do not need a job site block to refill trades.

List of dimensions[]

The order of the dimensions in the Blank Realmstone’s GUI. The picture above was taken before 3.5.

The mod adds 21 dimensions to the game.

Tier 1

Tier 1 dimensions are all accessible from the Overworld. Note that The Nether also counts as a Tier 1 dimension, despite being vanilla content.

Image Dimension Prerequisite dimension Description
Barathos Overworld A scorching desert wasteland dimension.
Creeponia A creeper forest dimension.
Deeplands A deep cave dimension.
Lelyetia A tall autumn forest dimension with an upside-down underside.
Precasia A prehistoric jungle dimension.

Tier 2

Tier 1 Dimensions typically (but not always) allow the unlocking of two other Tier 2 dimensions from their respective dimension branch. Despite not having its own Realmstone, The End counts as a Tier 2 dimension, as entry into the dimension typically requires visitation to The Nether beforehand.

Bestiary Entires[]

Ambient Pixon

The brightest of the pixons, this one seems to appear across multiple dimensions. This fact has led scientists to believe that pixons aren’t actually living creatures, but instead animated energy from somewhere within the dimension itself.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of ambient infusion stones.

Blooming Pixon

The Blooming Pixon is another variant of the wandering Pixons, found throughout Mysterium.

Its deep purple colouring catches the eye of nearby creatures causing it to be quite noticeable.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of blooming infusion stones.

Glaring Pixon

A roaming pixon that draws its energy from the lands of Lelyetia.

Curiously enough, it only seems to appear on the topside of the dimension

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of glaring infusion stones.

Gleaming Pixon

A bright pixon that seems to draw its energy from Runandor.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of gleaming infusion stones.

Glistening Pixon

Glistening pixons are the most well known pixons as they primarily appear in the overworld.

Initial studies on this pixon led to the breakthrough discovery of Kronic energy and the art of infusion.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of glistening infusion stones.

Glowing Pixon

A vibrant red pixon that supposedly draws its powers from the L’Borean.

In an occurrence that scientists still have no answer for; Glowing Pixons’ colour contrasts the environment from which it draws its energy.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of glowing infusion stones.

Radiant Pixon

Appropriately black and lustreless, the Radiant Pixon wanders around Dustopia aimlessly.

Their dark colour can make them hard to spot, even at close-range.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of radiant infusion stones.

Shining Pixon

An orange coloured pixon that roams the Abyssal wastelands exclusively.

Like all other pixons, when siphoned with a stone or diamond bowl, they drop a condensed formation of their energy in form of shining infusion stones.

Generation[]

Precasia’s generation consists of flat areas and hilly areas. There are two types of stone in the dimension: precasian surface-rock and precasian lower-rock. Precasian Lower-Rock makes up a majority of the underground, while the precasian surface-rock generates solely in the top few layers leading up to the surface, similar to dirt in the Overworld. The topmost layer is mostly made of precasian grass.

Caves generate underground in the dimension, similarly to Overworld caves. Four different fossil ores can be found underground in veins. Lava lakes can be found underground about layer y = 10 and below. The very bottom layers of the world are made of dimensional fabric

Precasia has a day-night cycle, complete with a sun and moon, as well as stars at night. Precasia also has clouds.

Overview[]

Accessing

The realmstone is obtained by falling 26 blocks or more while the player is holding a Blank Realmstone. If the player falls into water from this height, the task will not count.

Properties

There is no day/night cycle in Lelyetia. Respawn anchors and beds both work in Lelyetia, the latter works despite the absence of a day/night cycle. Maps function properly in Lelyetia. Clocks do not spin wildly, but are instead frozen at high noon, despite the lack of a sun.

Special dimension properties

If a survival mode player falls below y = -24 in the void, then the player will instantly be teleported directly upwards to max build height. This does not reset the player’s fall damage. If the player has a Distorting Artifact in their hotbar or offhand, then the player can instead fall up to y=-49, after which the distorting artifact’s own abilities kick in.

Players in creative or spectator mode will not be teleported if they go far enough into the void, unless they have a Distorting Artifact in hotbar/offhand.

Overview[]

The above screenshot with night vision.

The Deeplands is a tier 1 dimension. From Deeplands, the player is able to access Crystevia.

Accessing

The Realmstone for this dimension is obtained by mining an ore on bedrock level in the Overworld with a Blank Realmstone in the players’ inventory

Properties

Deeplands has no day/night cycle. Respawn anchors work in Deeplands. Beds do not work in Deeplands, but they do not explode when used. Clocks and compasses do not function properly, instead spinning wildly. The player icon on maps do not spin wildly, but maps in the Deeplands aren’t very usable.

Overview[]

Nowhere is officially considered untiered as per the tiering system. It is currently the only dimension to be treated this way.

Accessing

Nowhere can be accessed by using the Nowhere Realmstone on a Carved rune of power in a constructed portal frame.

The Nowhere Realmstone can be obtained through the following recipe:

Item Ingredients Recipe
Nowhere Realmstone 1 Enchanted Golden Apple + 1 End Crystal + 1 Beacon + 1 Blank Realmstone

Properties

The player is not able to interact with beds nor respawn anchors in survival mode if one is placed in creative. Attempting to use these blocks in creative will cause them both to explode (the latter if it is completely charged up). There is no day/night cycle in the dimension; clocks spin and maps are unusable (the player icon on the map doesn’t spin but the map renders as if the player were in a cave dimension).

Special properties

In survival mode, the player cannot place any blocks nor break most blocks inside Nowhere, no matter what. Lone portals are some, if not the only lone exception — if the player places a single portal block in creative and switches to survival mode, the player can punch and remove the portal block.

Many other right click actions, such as placing armor stands, or opening chests, does not work in Nowhere, with the following exceptions:

  • Placing a music disc in a Jukebox. When a music disc is used, the disc is not removed from the player’s inventory, but the music still plays. Attempting to remove the disc from the Jukebox fails, meaning the player cannot duplicate the disc. A music disc placed in creative mode can be retrieved.
  • Placing food items on a Soul Campfire.
  • Opening an ender chest.
  • Placing Tablets or a Lotto Totem.

Ender Pearls do not work in Nowhere. Attempting to throw one will not teleport the player when it lands.

If the player leaves the dimension through a portal, any Return Crystals or Progress Tokens are removed from the player’s inventory. Leaving by dying will not remove these items.

The doFireTick, mobGriefing, destructiveWeaponPhysics, and doStrongerMobGriefing gamerules are set to false whenever the player enters the dimension.

Non-player and non-tameable mobs will not drop any items if defeated while in Nowhere.

Overview[]

The Skills appearing below the Resource Systems.

The player’s skills appear in two places. They can be found inside the Advent GUI, appearing in the Stats tab. They can also be made to pop up below the Resource Systems. In order to make them appear below the resource systems, the player will need to assign a key to it in the Minecraft Controls menu, as one is not assigned by default.

Increasing skill level

Extraction at level 100.

Upon starting a new game, all of the player’s skills will be at level 1, with 0 total xp. The skill level for each skill can be increased by gaining enough experience. The way the player gains experience in each skill differs for each skill.

The level of the skill can be increased when the player gains enough experience in the skill. The amount of experience needed to increase the skill level is located under the skill icon in two formats: a bar that fills up as the player gains xp, and a number showing current xp vs xp needed to level up (this number only appears in the Advent GUI). The bar starts out red and starts to become green as the player gains experience. Once the bar becomes completely green, the skill level increases and the bar resets to all red again (with exception at the max level, in this case the bar stays green upon reaching the max level). The current skill level is displayed under the the skill icon in the Advent GUI, and in the top right corner of the skill icon if the skills are made to appear below the Resource Systems.

The amount of experience needed to advance to the next level increases with each level. Once the player reaches level 100, a fanfare will play and the border of the skill icon will turn a golden color. If enabled in the config, the player can level up skills past level 100, all the way up until level 1000, which is the maximum. If not enabled in the config, leveling up skills past 100 is impossible. Once the player reaches level 1000 (or level 100 with level 1000 disabled in the config) in a particular skill, the player will not be able to increase the skill level anymore.

When the player gains experience for a skill, a popup will appear on top of the player’s screen for a few seconds. This popup will show the skill icon for the skill the player gained experience in, and a number representing the amount of experience gained. These will only appear if toggled in the config.

Skill Crystals can be used to grant experience to the player’s skills. When used, a skill crystal will grant experience to the player’s lowest level skill that is also above level 15. This means that in order to use a skill crystal, the player has to have at least one skill that is level 15 or higher.

Utopian Armor can be used to increase the amount of xp gained when training skills.

The player can alter their skills using the aoaskill or aoaskills command.

The Alchemy and Engineering skills cannot have their levels increased legitimately in-game. The Augury skill cannot be leveled up in-game either, unless the player played a version of the mod before 3.2 and trained Augury in it to at least level 15. Then, the only legitimate way to level it up would be by using Skill Crystals.

Unlocking parts of the game

Increasing the player’s skill level in a skill may do one of two things: it will unlock certain parts of the game that were previously locked, or grant the player an increased stat, ability, or grant some other reward.

Besides directly locking content behind them, skills may also indirectly lock content that is only accessible through content locked by skills. For example, some bosses do not require hunter levels to defeat them, however obtaining the boss spawner requires the player to train their skills to obtain it.

Once the player reaches level 100 in a skill, the player will be able to wear related to the skill.

Besides advancements, nothing is granted to the player for training a skill above level 100.
