Civil War Prepedit

Merge fleet and move it to Spanish Africa, pick A Great Spain and continue until Sin Paquito, Move army to metropolitan Spain and research superior firepower

When the election pops up pick nationalists before clicking suppress the strikes, spam suppress the strikes until civil war starts.
Place Division on fallback line on victory points:

Go to Spanish Africa (290) set fleet on naval invasion in Western Mediterranean (68) and set divisions to naval invade victory points:

Next head over to Spain proper and select all the division not connected to the front in the north and put them into an army with Mohamed Meziance as commander, reasign their orders if necessary to ensure that the occupied victory points are held.

Finally head over to the north front and assign division in Galicia (171) and other division close to northern  Republican Spain, this army should have 15 divisions on a frontline against Asturias (790) and País Vasco (792) and mircomanage attacks so you sieze the ports asap. Next for the major front assign all remaining divisions on a front with and offensive line along the 2nd river south of Madrid. Try to pin divisions and move in to occupy Madrid before the Frontlines Solidify event occurs and if it does simply minimize it since you should be done before the modifiers take effect. Some other micromanaging could be nessisary but if you arent done before ~aug 5 1936 it is best to restart.

Invasion of France Prepedit

Immediately after civil war you should start «Confirm the Fuegos» and rush to «Claim the French Throne». Train 10 infantry brigades on high priority and research mobile warfare doctrine. Move the fleet to Bilbao (740). Deploy the infantry brigade when at 20% and convert to calvary, put the calvary divisions in 1 army and set the following naval invasions:

  • 3 divisions from Bilbao (740) to Calais (11548)
  • 3 divisions from Oviedo (11707) to Dieppe (485)
  • 2 divisions from Oviedo (11707) to Cherbourg (6449)
  • 1 division from Bilbao (740) to Lorient (6536)
  • 1 division from Bilbao (740) to Nantes (11465)

Put the rest of the army on a frontline against  France with an offensive line north.

The Invasion of Franceedit

Right when «Claim the French Throne» focus completes declare war on  France, set your navy on naval invasion support in Bay of Biscay (42) and English Channel (18), activate all orders slowdown game and wait for the first two division to land in Nantes (11465) and Lorient (6536). The division sent to Lorient should be attempting to occupy Brest without any combat, after you have ensured Brest is going to be occupied head over to Northern  France however prioritize the northern landings before this as you need to micromanage the northern divisions as soon as they land.

The divisions landing in Cherbourg(6449) will be sent to Rouen (11563) and Paris (11506), The ones in Dieppe (485) will be sent to Rouen (11563), Paris (11506) and Amiens (11420), And finally the divisions in Calais (11548) will be sent to Dunkerque (575), Paris (11506) and Lille (11483). TriviaA goat mount was planned in addition to all the others in Kingdom: New Lands but eventually didn’t make it to the final release. The goat had no special ability. On Twitter Noio wrote that : «one of the ideas was ‘worse in every way but cute’. Like a ‘hard mode’ for the game.»

There are six unique hermit types: the Ballista Hermit, the Bakery Hermit, the Knight Hermit, the Signal Hermit, the Stable Hermit, and the Fire Tower Hermit. Some colors of the Hermits’ cloths depend on the Monarch’s own colors, and the appearances of hermits change in different settings. As a notable example, the Bakery Hermit is a plague doctor offering elixirs in Dead Lands and a brewer offering drinks in Norse Lands.

Greed-citizen[]

Although greed-citizens have a distinct appearance, they behave as regular greedlings:

  • bumping the walls (albeit more quickly and in a swarm)
  • attacking and infecting other townspeople
  • stealing the Crown
  • fleeing at Daylight.

However:

  • they do not steal tools, weapons and coins
  • they move slower than regular greedlings
  • they deal more damage per hit
  • hitting them does not make them vanish,but turns them back to their vagrant state instead.

The plague can quickly snowball out of control if one of the outer walls is breached.

If the Monarch recruits a citizen at a vagrant camp too far away from the outer wall, it will become infected and then killed by archers. So there will be a vagrant waiting for a coin right next to the outer wall, and it only costs one more coin.

Portals

There are no small portals on this island.

Cliff portals are preceded by a small stone pyramid with a purple tentacle that behaves like a dock portal but cannot be destroyed.

On the island horizon there is a volcano with a purple root or tentacle coming out of it.

Warhorse

There are no alternative mounts on this island.

The warhorse the Monarch rides from the beginning, has an odd purple skin, but behaves as usual, with the penurious stamina and the ability to buff the townspeople with protection.

The buff protection has been significantly nerfed though. Folks hit by the Greed are not contaminated, but they do lose their tools and are thrown on the ground, lying for a few seconds before resuming their normal activity.

Cursed crown

Single playerOnly resolute rulers will find this crown!

To get the cursed crown in Plague Island in single player mode, the Monarch has to survive sixty nights.

CooperativeOnly for resolute and innoxious rulers!

To get the cursed crown in Plague Island in cooperation mode, both Monarchs must survive sixty nights and each upgrade six walls to iron.

Interest[]

Interest earnings are daily and depend on the number of coins stored.

If a total of only one or two coins have been deposited, there will be no interest, and that amount won’t change with time.

If at least three, up to one hundred coins are stored, the Banker increases the funds by seven percent (rounded up) per day.

When more than one hundred coins are stored, the interest rate becomes a solid eight coins per day.

Technically speaking if you store at least one hundred coins with the banker, every five days you can refill your coin purse completely. This will work every five days indefinitely by utilizing your earnings from interest alone.

Premise and story[]

New Lands is similar to the original game in terms of a monarch trying to establish a long-lasting kingdom while being attacked by otherworldly monsters. However, the Monarch begins shipwrecked on an island, and has the goal of sailing away to a different island before getting overrun. Further flavors are added to the gameplay, as listed below in «New Features».

It is suggested by the many surrounding ruins that this is not the first Monarch to settle on the islands. The presence of helpful ghosts and other characters suggests that the collective efforts of people on the islands to survive and thrive have been ongoing for many years.

Defense with knights[]

During the day, idle squires and knights guard the borders by walking to or standing near the Kingdom’s defensive line at the outer wall. As night falls, they pull just inside the outer wall along with their soldiers.

When the Greed attacks the outer wall, squires and knights will stand ready as their soldiers shoot arrows over the wall. If the leaders sense, that the outer wall is going to fall, they will retreat with their companies to the next wall. Consequently the soldiers will be able to continue fighting wall by wall without being attacked by ground monsters, although they are still vulnerable to floaters. The squires and knights, if they have enough coins, are also able to block the rocks thrown by breeders, preventing the archers (hunters and soldiers) behind them from being hit.

Despite its representation on the map seeming somewhat smaller than the fourth, the fifth island is the largest.

At least one of the two vagrant camps is located very far from the central castle, generally behind some portals. The Greed waves tend to be harder than on the other islands.

The island’s unlockables include the coin-producing Unicorn, and the Statue of Knights, which was redesigned in Never Alone patch to make it more useful: upon activating the statue, knights are able to attack faster and carry more coins (and they no longer use a charge attack).

There are three small portals on each side of the town.

Behavior[]

Just like coins, gems are collected and stored in the Monarch’s purse, and greedlings are able to steal gems left on the ground.

When you are hit by a greed or if you drop your belongings, coins are prioritised. But then, if you have no coin left, gems will drop (and then the crown).

Unlike coins (which disappear after 30 seconds), gems will never disappear if they are dropped on the ground. Also, subjects won’t collect them. Only greedlings can take them from you.

Also unlike coins, gems will never fall into the water/river/sea. If a Monarch drops a gem—intentionally, due to the purse being full, or due to a Greed’s hit—this gem cannot fall beyond the line of the ground.

Stolen gems

Gems stolen by greedlings on an island are recovered after the cave of that specific island has been destroyed: all gems stolen on that island are spat out of the cliff portal with the bomb detonation. The Monarch though must escape the bomb explosion in order to collect them. See related .

Unrecoverable

Gems in the pouch are lost for good if the Monarch loses the crown (or the crowns, in co-op).

Gems dropped in a safe place (at the Town Center of a Kingdom with multiple walls on both sides, for example), are lost for good if the Monarch travels to another island or loses the crown (or the crowns, in co-op). The island may be found again with some walls untouched by decay, but not the gems once dropped there.

Gems spat out of the cave with the bomb detonation are lost forever if the Monarch does not get out in time.

History[]

The gems system has been introduced to replace the signpost. People didn’t always understand the previous unlock system and, because of it, thought there was not that much unlockable content in Kingdom: New Lands. It was often left locked.

The note was worded without specifying the platforms affected by the bug. On the Steam version though the way to recover gems was available since the release version. This seems to have been fixed in some 2019 update with no related patch note.

Rescuing[]

This section is about Kingdom Two Crowns.

Kidnapped hermits will be inaccessible and cannot be recruited again from their cottage; instead, they can be rescued.
The most honorable way to regain access to a hermit is to use a bomb and destroy the cave on the island where the hermit has been kidnapped. If the Monarch escapes the bomb explosion, the lost hermit will be waiting outside the cave, along with any gems and the dog, if these were also been taken by the Greed on that island.
If desperate however, the Monarch can simply lose the Crown. The kidnapped hermit is then lost for good, and a new one can now be recruited at his respective cottage by repaying the coin cost.

Hostile presence[]

An archer (soldier or hunter) hitting with one arrow an active portal (exhausted or not), at any time of the day or the night, is immediately considered a hostile presence.

The Monarch or any subject approaching a non-exhausted active portal within a distance of half of screen and remaining on that area enough time (a few seconds) to trigger that portal to open is also considered a hostile presence. E.g.: Monarchs that pass by an active portal galloping on a Stag will not be considered hostile by an active portal because they’re too fast.

In Classic and New Lands, villagers recruited deep in the forest, are never considered hostile by portals. They can be caught by regular Greed waves, but they never provoke themselves a portal. In Two Crowns though, it is not uncommon to see villagers triggering portals while trying to make their way home.

Premise[]

The game has a clear premise: a Monarch on their horse arrives to a land covered by forests and ruins and people struggling in poverty.
Initially lead by a light trail, the Monarch explores the land and its many mysteries. By using the coins they find, the Monarch recruits the poor people so they turn into brave civilians, and establishes a humble campsite that will slowly grow into a thriving kingdom.

Soon enough, the Monarch finds out the reason why there are so many ruins around (hence the maxim «Nothing Lasts…») and prepares to also defend the kingdom from constant attacks by a dark and greedy enemy.
To win the game, the Monarch must use knights and archers to destroy all portals that spawn the Greed before they become too powerful to defeat.

Special ability[]

This section is about New Lands & Two Crowns.

Most mounts in New Lands and in Two Crowns have a special ability. Some abilities will activate without an action from the player and depending on the situation, like the stag and the unicorn’s abilities.

Others like the warhorse and the bear will use their special abilities when sprinting.

Kingdom Two Crowns – A few others will require a specific trigger to activate their special abilities. These triggers or commands are shown on the table.

Types of special abilities

There are three types of special abilities:

Economic abilities generate income for the Kingdom. E.g.: the stag attracting deer.

Defensive abilities reduce the damage taken or delay an attack from the Greed. E.g.: the warhorse buff protection.

Offensive abilities apply direct damage to the Greed. E.g.: the lizard spitting fire.

Note that an ability may be found in more than one group; for example, the charge attack of the bear, that may be used to attack greedlings and to hunt wildlife.

This is the first island where the Merchant won’t be found.

The Monarch should be able though to arrive on this island with at least a couple of squires for early protection and make the local economy rely even more on hunting.

Of the island’s unlockables, the Baker Hermit is recommended, especially for islands four and five. Also, the Builder Statue is one of the most efficient investments in the Kingdom’s security.

There are two small portals on each side of the town.

Damaged[]

One can tell how badly a wall is damaged from its condition. Small damage to the wall will result in minor fractures running through its structure, while heavy damage will usually result in roughly half of the wall being torn asunder. Builders automatically repair the damaged walls at day, unless the Greed are still attacking it.

Stump

If the wall is broken down entirely, a stump remains in place and coins must be used to rebuild it, which is much cheaper than having to build it from scratch.

Decay

Kingdom Two Crowns – Walls may be destroyed by the decay while the Monarch is away from that island. The more days away, the more walls are destroyed, starting from the outer most ones. Higher tier walls can resist for more days.
