Swap Costumes

DLC costumes, called «Swap Costumes», were announced; Street Fighter Swap Costumes are Tekken-inspired, and Tekken Swap Costumes are Street Fighter-inspired. Swap costumes came out for the non DLC roster in the PC version but the DLC characters didn’t get any alternate outfits in said version.

Alternate Costumes

Also present are «Alternate Costumes» in which most are some-all new outfits. for both the Street Fighter and Tekken cast. These alternate outfits were not released in the PC version of the game. In Ultra Street Fighter IV, on startup the game checks for SFXTK save data and checks for the alternate costumes, if they are purchased the Ultra Street Fighter IV newcomers that were in Street Fighter X Tekken alongside Decapre all get their alternate outfit in USFIV as well (Decapre getting Cammy’s alternate costume).

Since the PC version doesn’t have these outfits purchasable. The PC version of Ultra instead just simply checks to see if the user has SFXT save data in general instead.

Poison uses a dominatrix whip, Rolento uses a steel baton, Vega uses his claws, Yoshimitsu uses a sword, Cole uses a weapon called «the Amp» invented and named by his friend, Zeke Jedediah Dunbar, Mega Man uses his gun and Alisa uses chainsaws.
• Jin, Marduk, Guile use profanity in the game, which is the «S-word». Jin uses it in his winquote to Asuka, Guile uses it when he misses to grab someone, and Marduk uses it at after defeating Akuma in his Arcade Story Mode with his official tag partner, King.
• Cammy is the fastest character in the game. Hugo is the slowest.
• Hugo has the most damaging moves in the game.

• Lili’s Pandora Mode activation phrase is translated: «I feel fantastic!», which may be a reference to a line from the song «Still Alive» from Portal.
• In Lili’s win quote to Nina, she refers to Nina as «Auntie». Despite this, neither of these characters are related to each other. The reason why Lili calls her «Auntie» is because Nina is 43 years old (as of Tekken 6

• Cole’s self in this game is his Neutral self.
• Cole is the only character in the game who is voiced only in English. Every other character is voiced in both English and Japanese, with some exceptions like Yoshimitsu who is only voiced in Japanese, or Ogre, who is not voiced at all, much like the other animal voice characters like King and Kuma

  However, he does have a Japanese voice actor outside this game, as to why Capcom didn’t have his Japanese voice actor in the game remained unknown.

• Cole, Toro and Kuro are the only characters that have no story, as they are unplayable in Arcade Mode.
• Cole is the only PS3 exclusive character that does not have a special theme music.
• When Cole enters into Pandora Mode, he will glow bright red instead of purple. This is a homage to inFAMOUS’s Karma system, where Cole’s lightning powers will glow blue if he does heroic things, otherwise it’ll glow red if does evil deeds. When activating Cross Assault as Cole, it will always play the Street Fighter/Tekken Cross Assault music regardless of which side his partner is from, and the Street Fighter/Tekken victory music is always played when he wins. However, in Trial mode, Ryu appears as his dummy.
• Cole also appears in another crossover game called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Story[]

Background

King was a street urchin, brought up in a Mexican orphanage owned by the original King. He worked with King until one day, news broke of the first King’s death at the hands of the monstrous creature known as Ogre. With no money, the orphanage would crumble into nothing, so he donned King’s mask and imitated his style, but he lost every competition he entered. One day, another masked man visited the new King, introducing himself as an old friend. He revealed himself to be Armor King, and offered to train the new King out of respect for his friend. After four years, he matured into a forceful wrestler known as King II, a worthy heir to the throne.

Tekken 3

After hearing news of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3, King II was entered into the tournament by his mentor to see how well his training would pay off against the toughest of competitors world-wide. King also seeked revenge against the elusive Ogre. King began a successful career as a luchadore after the tournament, but he and Armor King still missed their friend.

Tekken 4

King discovered that his master, Armor King, had been killed in a bar fight. The perpetrator, Craig Marduk, had been arrested in Arizona and was sent to prison. Upon Marduk’s release (thanks to bribes paid by King himself), King sent a letter challenging Marduk to the tournament. King defeated Marduk and sent him to the hospital, where King followed him to deliver a deadly blow. However, he stopped after seeing a portrait of Marduk and his elderly parents. King puts the portrait on Marduk’s chest, and leaves, realizing how foolish he had become.

Tekken 5

Marduk donned a black jaguar mask and challenged King to a rematch via television. Enraged by the assault on his master’s honor, King resolved to settle the score in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.

King met Julia Chang along the way, who asked King to stop fighting just because Marduk called him out. When King refused, Julia tried to stop King on her own, but King was the victor in their match. After two more rounds, he had the chance to fight Marduk, who adamantly said he would beat King «fair and square». Once again however, King won. Marduk conceded defeat and King offered his hand in friendship, reconciling differences between the two. King and Marduk later went on to become NWN Tag Team Champions.

Tekken 6

King heard of the attack on Marduk, and was furious to learn that the assailant looked exactly like his deceased master, Armor King. King was unsuccessful in his attempt to learn the true identity of Craig’s attacker when he received an invitation from Marduk to join him in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6, in the hopes that the culprit would appear again. When King was in his room looking at a picture of his deceased master, he accidentally dropped and broke the glass frame and noticed another photo behind his master’s; the hidden photo that showed two Armor Kings.

King arrived at Armor King’s grave to find Marduk, and the mysterious new Armor King, asking the assailant who exactly he was. The mysterious person then says that he is the brother of Armor King, thus making himself Armor King II.

Biography[]

A cool, handsome boxer who is currently the reigning middleweight champion of the world. He is a serious and strong-hearted character who hates when others meddle in his matches.

Appearance

He has slicked back blonde hair that reaches his shoulders. His attire consists of british themed boxing trunks, yellow boxing gloves with studded wristbands, and boxing shoes.

Personality

Steve is portrayed as a confidient, strong, and noble person. Whenever Steve has a goal he will do anything to achieve it. This is something he inherits from his mother Nina Williams. However much like Anna, he is also dangerous at times, making him a very powerful fighter, but not evil, and a suprise-attacker.

Biography[]

A former member of the Mad Gear crime syndicate. She is constantly at odds with her partner Hugo, although the two seem to get along just fine regardless.

Appearance

Poison is a woman with long, pink, somewhat rugged, hair. She wears a black cap, a choker, blue cutoff shorts, red high heels, and a tanktop cut just below her large breasts. In Final Fight Revenge and some artworks, her hair is shown to be purple instead of pink. She wears several armbands around her right arm and has chains and a pair of handcuffs suspended off her shorts. Final Fight Revenge features her also possessing a whip used in attacks, though the character has not been shown with one in other titles or artwork. Poison stands about 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm) tall and has three sizes of 34-25-35″ (88-66-89 cm).

Personality

Poison’s behavior is represented as womanly and sultry, ranging from flirtatious comments to pole dancing. She is also rather promiscuous, as this is displayed in combat and after defeating an opponent. She enjoys fighting and uses it as a means to stay in shape. Aside from this, Poison is very smart about fighting and does not like to fight children.

Tekken 7[править]

В июле 2014-го Намко была анонсирована седьмая часть сабжа и выложен первый трейлер, показывающий кадры из CG-роликов с предыдущих частей плюс жену Хэйхати Кадзуми (в форме дьявола, да!) и мини-диалог Хэйхати с Кадзуей, стоящих друг напротив друга, где сын выражает недовольство по случаю убийства отцом матери. Фаны сделали вывод, что однажды давным-давно Хэйхати узнал, что его жена — дьяволица и замочил её (возможно, боялся, что её существование угрожало миру), а затем пошел выпиливать пятилетнего сына. Ну а потом вы знаете.

Затем были анонсированные новые персонажи: Клаудио — по слухам владеющий геном дьявола, Катарина — с пижонским костюмом и бюстом третьего размера, Lucky Хлоя — тян с диагнозом «аниме головного мозга» и Шахин — араб по национальности. По словам Харады-сана, это ещё далеко не всё и он заявит ещё A LOT OF CHARACTERS!!!

Вообще, пока что фанаты терпят одни разочарования. Так оно понятно, ведь из нововведений мы видим:

• ненужные SF-style slow-mo эффекты;
• читерские супер-комбо, снимающие по 120 % здоровья;
• немыслимо огромные вспышки при ударах;
• персонажей, которые не радуют никого, кроме самых всеядно-упоротых теккенофриков. Персонажи эти явно были свистнуты из Soul Calibur и DoA, а также имеют приёмы других персов из Теккена.
• Вымышленные боевые стили, которых нет ИРЛ.

Ну что сказать? Головокружение от успехов. Некогда Кадзуя решил, что ему всё можно — за что и поплатился. Теперь, похоже, та же злокачественная мысль закралась в голову Харады-сана. Может плохо кончиться.

Biography[]

The daughter of a world-famous oil maufactuer. She has a stubborn, arrogant attitude but also has a penchant for fighting, and thus when she finds the time she engages in street fights.

Appearance

Lili’s appearance seems to portray a «sweet and kind» look. Lili is a young Monegasque teenager with honey-blonde hair with full fringed bangs that cover her forehead, and has light bluish-grey eyes. Lili is also currently the tallest human female character, standing at 5’9″. Her primary outfit consists of a white Victorian-style dress, white boots with red socks, red-and-white fingerless gloves, and a red-and-black gingham-patterned ascot tie.

Personality

In general, Lili seems to strive for grace and poise with every movement — even and especially during fights. She is also very confident in her fighting abilities. Her behavior is split between efforts to sate her own need for fighting and a deep love for her father, who dislikes conflict, but deep down, Lili is a gentle person and a very sweet young lady.

Trivia[]

• Yoshimitsu is the only character in the game who is voiced only in Japanese. Every other character is voiced in both English and Japanese, with some exceptions like Cole who is only voiced in English, or King, who is not voiced at all.
• In the game, Yoshimitsu talks like Yoda from Star Wars in his win quotes to characters.
• Yoshimitsu’s primary outfit for this game is his Tekken 3 incarnation.
• The Demonic Sword that Yoshimitsu hold seems to be calling out to the Satsui no Hado in Ryu and Ingrid’s power, as he states to Ryu that his sword is calling out to his power, he also wonders why his sword is responding to so much dark energy from the South Pole where the Box is located.

Gameplay

Tekken 5 is credited for taking the series back to its roots. It incorporates a faster, more fluid fighting system, improved graphics, returning characters, and some of the Tekken series’ trademark infinite stages. New to Tekken 5 is the Crush System which affects the vulnerability of a character while they attack. For example, a move with jumping properties, such as a hop kick, will be completely invulnerable during most of its animation time to all of an opponent’s low attacks.

Gameplay (Paul vs Hwoarang)

It also retains its wall juggling concept from Tekken 4, but the element is effectively less easy to abuse and easier to defend against. Tekken 5 also introduced a Ranking system for the first time.

The home version is a collector’s edition of sorts, as it includes full arcade emulations of Tekken, Tekken 2, Tekken 3 and StarBlade. Tekken 5 also allowed players to customize their fighter for the first time, allowing them to change the colors of their outfits, buy additional costumes (only available to a few characters), and equip them with items by using money gained from playing the Story, Survival, Time Attack, the side-story Devil Within, and Arcade Battle modes.

A number of characters who were absent from Tekken 3 or Tekken 4 returned, such as Anna Williams, Bruce Irvin, Wang Jinrei and others. This, combined with seven newly introduced characters, gave Tekken 5 a roster of 37 characters, almost as many as the ‘all-stars’ Tekken Tag Tournament game.

Due to the huge imbalance in the original version of the game, most notably concerning the likes of Steve and Kazuya, an arcade-exclusive update was released, known as Tekken 5.1. Aside from attempting to balance the game (ground moves now inflicted 70% damage instead of 100%), 5.1 also changed the health bar from yellow to green.

Devil Within

Main article: Devil Within (Mode)

The Devil Within mode is a fighting minigame in direct lineage to the Tekken Force modes in Tekken 3 and Tekken 4 called Devil Within. This minigame follows the adventures of Jin Kazama as he searches the G Corporation in search for information on his missing mother and other answers. Being somewhat story oriented, the player is not permitted to use their own choice of characters like previous iterations. The game also uses a limited button system, incorporating a Block and Jump button as well as sizing down the attack buttons to simple «Punch» and «Kick» buttons (though, some of Jin’s fighting special moves can still be performed such as his Demon’s Paw). Along with fighting various Jack models in the mini-game, the player must pursue minor key quests to proceed. This mode is one of the two ways to unlock the playable version of Jin’s Devil incarnation.
