• Paradise City is probably named after a 1987 Guns N’ Roses single, which is always the first track played when the game is started.
• The original seal of Paradise City features an Eye of Providence as featured on the reverse of the Great Seal of the United States, a , and Latin motto «Loco Pedal Ut Metal» and «Ledo Is» around it. This roughly translates to the phrase «Pedal to the metal» and «Hit It«.
  • The current seal (in v1.90 update) now features an orange seal with a city silhouette of Big Surf Island in it and blue rims around it.
  • The Paradise City seal made a cameo in the Wii U release of Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2013) where it has been stamped on one of the delivery crates inside a secret garage after entering a Mario-themed Warp Pipe, an easter egg.
• Many of the areas, regions and zones in Paradise City are named after similar tracks from previous Burnout titles. Harbor Town, River City and Hillside Pass are from Burnout 1, White Mountain, Motor City, Paradise Keys Bridge (Sunshine Keys) and Lone Peaks are from Burnout Revenge, and Waterfront, Downtown and Silver Lake are from Burnout 3. Burnout 2 contains the most references, with Palm Bay Heights, Heartbreak Hills, Crystal Summit, Sunset Valley, Big Surf and Big Surf Island all being named after tracks and routes from the game. I-88 is also named after the Interstate 88 track, and the Rockridge Dam is similar to the dam seen in the Crystal Summit Lake track. The Perren’s Point region is also very similar to the coastal stretch from Big Surf Shores, which contains a split tunnel coming from a beachfront, hilly terrain, a road split with grass in the middle, and a small winding section up a hill.

• An early map released for the game depicted a much larger Paradise City. Harbor Town was greatly expanded, Big Surf Island was an airport (similar to the Airport Terminal tracks from Burnout 2) and a southern factory zone existed in the far south. The area as a whole was also a lot bigger, so the city region appears to be much more dense with streets than the current version and I-88 was a much longer route. Only the Silver Lake and White Mountain areas appear the same as the current version.
• A later but still premature, map shows the modern map layout of Paradise but in a more tropical climate akin to what is seen on Big Surf Island.
• While the name Paradise City refers mainly to the urban area in the East, it can also refer to the location as a whole.
• Interestingly on the Gold Coast on the East side of Australia, there is a Paradise Island and an outlet center called Harbour Town (however the resemblance for both is in name only).
• Much of the urban area comprising Paradise City appears to be heavily inspired by Chicago, Illinois.

Harbor Town

Harbor Town is an industrial area of Paradise City, especially in the Southern edge. The West area of this region contains the Rockridge Dam and the South Bay Expressway Suspension Bridge, two ways to get into the country area. Harbor Town’s finishing landmark is the Naval Yard, which also serves as the base for the Robbers team in the Cops and Robbers online game mode.

Music

Unlike previous games, in Burnout: Paradise 2, players can choose to tune to real-life radio stations. Like in a real car, only radio stations in the range of the user’s real-life location can be used. Others will just be static.

Players can also choose to just listen to the in-game music. This in-game music system will use EA Trax like previous Burnout games.

The third option is to listen to music on the player’s console, or an external music service like Music Unlimited on PlayStation consoles, iTunes on PC/Mac and any other music service available on the console.

Cop Cars

Cop Cars are a series of reprised Paradise Cars fitted with police packages. They can be driven just like any other vehicle but are required to play Online Cops and Robbers.

They were introduced with the Second Burnout Store Update for Burnout Paradise and Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box as premium downloadable content that had to be paid for, but are included for free as part of Burnout Paradise Remastered.

Транспорт класса трюкач отлично подходит для выполнения прыжков и бочек, ну а агрессор — это медленные, как правило, но очень мощные машины, способные легко превратить соперника в груду бесполезного металлолома.

Каждая гонка в игре происходит в необычном, но очень увлекательном режиме. Зачастую нам нужно не только обогнать соперника, но и выбить его с трассы и в прямом смысле этого слова уничтожить. Благодаря этому, кстати, можно пополнить свою шкалу нитро-ускорения, а поэтому особенно осторожные водители должны будут пройти моральную переквалификацию, чтобы легко влиться в геймплей Burnout Paradise. Нельзя не отметить, что игра полна режимов, пусть и довольно примитивных. Помимо обычной езды на время и на скорость, в некоторых состязаниях нас просят выполнять дрифт или трюки, что вносит большое разнообразие в игровой процесс.

Неплохим способом разбавить впечатления является мультиплеер и кооператив. Представьте все безумие Burnout Paradise Remastered, только вместо искусственного интеллекта на дороге реальные игроки, которые так же как и вы пытаются превратить соперника в пустое место. Downtown Paradise

Motor City (a Downtown Paradise sub-district) is the initial starting area for players when they start the game. The northern section is more of a warehouse area with a lighthouse, while the southern is a business area containing the skyscrapers that can be seen from Palm Bay, Harbor Town, and Big Surf Island. It is the only region in the game to contain three finishing landmarks, The Coastguard HQ, Waterfront Plaza and the Wildcats Baseball Stadium.

Issues fixed[edit]

Game crashes on initial startupedit

Issue with extended ASCII in Windows username
BPR may crash on initial start-up after «Connecting to Paradise City Servers» if your Windows username contains non-ASCII characters. As an example, usernames containing «é» or «ö» will result in a crash.

Issues with OBS
Even if its just installed and not runnig at all it will make game crash everytime you launch it. To fix this you can try to install OBS Virtualcam, if this doesnt work then just uninstall OBS completely.

Issues with Nvidia control panel
If you have a laptop, make sure the Nvidia control panel is not automatically switching your GPU to your iGPU. The best way to make sure this fix works is to manage 3D settings, choose the program settings tab, pick Burnout Paradise Remastered then underneath in the drop-down menu choose you preferred graphics card, apply, and then load the game.

Game crashes during the «Connecting to Paradise City Servers» Messageedit

Occurs when user has a friend on the Origin Friends List that has 25+ characters in their name. The game does a scan of the Friends List to see whether or not they are playing the game and, upon coming across this name, will crash.

Remove that friend from the Friends List. Alternatively, start the game while Origin is in Offline Mode.[citation needed]

Big Surf Island is a collection of vehicles unlocked by progressing through the .

They were introduced with the Third Burnout Store Update Burnout Store Update for Burnout Paradise and Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box as premium downloadable content that had to be paid for, but are included for free as part of Burnout Paradise Remastered.

Issues with recording software[citation needed]

The easiest way to rectify this issue is: close the screen recording software, load Burnout Paradise, Alt+Tab ↹ out, then run the screen recording software. If this is not effective, you may need to uninstall the screen recording software entirely. Burnout Paradise may crash on start-up if you have screen recording software running, such as XSplit. This occurs because the game sees the software as a webcam.

Issues with CL Eye Driver[citation needed]

Currently, the only solution is to uninstall the CL Eye Driver entirely. You may encounter further problems even after doing so, so you may have to experiment with trial and error by closing some Windows Services in the Task Manager, then running Burnout Paradise. Users with the CL Eye Driver installed (to enable support for the PlayStation Eye Camera as a webcam) will encounter crashes when loading Burnout Paradise.

Nvidia graphics issues[citation needed]
You may have to end nvstreamsvc.exe via the Task Manager for the game to load. Users with Nvidia graphics may have Nvidia’s Streamer Service installed (used for streaming to Shield).

Windows 7 solution[citation needed]
Windows 7 users have reported crashing when attempting to run the game. To rectify this, set the game to run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, or Windows Vista SP2 mode. It may also help to reduce or disable Anti-Aliasing in the game’s launcher. As a last resort, the game may be fixable by entering into the launch options.

Getting online[citation needed]

Try connecting online normally. If it connects, ignore the rest of the guide. Otherwise, go to Step 2. After the connection fails, go to the login page again but click «Create new account» instead. Enter the same credentials (ex. email and username) used for the current account into the new one. Once all information is entered in, try creating a new account. If entered correctly, an error message should pop up that says along the lines of «account already exists». Reboot the game and try logging in again with the same account info used in the create account page.

Invalid product keyedit

The only solution is to download and reinstall the game via Origin.

Upon attempting to log into an EA/Origin account in order to play the game online, some users encounter the error «The product key you are using is invalid». This occurs if you are using a retail version of the game which you have registered online via Origin/EA Download Manager. The game recognizes that your CD key is already in use (on Origin), and thinks it is invalid.

• Legendary Cars — An homage of 1980s movie and television cars.
• Toy Cars — Toy renditions of Paradise Cars.
• Boost Specials — Cars fitted with unique boost types.
• Cop Cars — PCPD renditions of Paradise Cars.
• Big Surf Island — Vehicles relating to progression on Big Surf Island.

Palm Bay Heights

Palm Bay Heights is the more «relaxed» end of the city, containing shops and hotels, as well as some small residential areas. The Southern area also contains some small high-rise buildings. Palm Bay’s Landmark is the Maplemount Country Club, which doubles as the base for the Cops in Cops and Robbers. Major landmarks include Big Surf Beach with complimentary Ferris Wheel, the Lawrence Road tunnel, which heads into the country area, and the large Paradise City sign on the Western Hills, which is visible even from Paradise Keys Bridge on Big Surf Island. This hill obscures any view of the main city from the country area.

Multiplayer

Like its predecessor, players create servers and then other players can join these servers. This applies to both multiplayer and LAN. Whether or not there will be ranks in multiplayer or anything else has not been decided yet, so it is unknown if there will be an option to choose between ranked and unranked.

In single player, players once again can have other players join during this if they invite them, but now also if they have it set so friends can join them automatically. Players cannot join their friends either way if their friend is doing an event, however.

Another new feature is that the player can play with bots in the game as well.
